Legends of the South Stallion Incentive $100,000 Race

August 26 – 29 2021 @ Georgia National Fairgrounds – Reeves Arena, Perry GA.

Open Qualifiers in BOLD, duplicate Qualifiers in ITALIC.  Taking 35 back in each D per day, skipping double qualifiers.

 

 

ATTENTION!

  • Due to the confusion regarding Finals Qualifications, Legends has decided to honor the 35 back to Finals.  Results have been updated to reflect this.

EVENT RULES

  • LEGENDS FUTURITY:
    • Futurity is 2D .7 Second Split, 2 go’s and Average. $40,000 Added – 30% of the pot to the first round 30% to the second round & 40% to the average
    • For 4- & 5-Year Olds not raced before November 15th, 2020 currently enrolled in the Legends of the South Stallion Incentive
    • Must have copy of papers & Legends Entry Form at time of entry. 70/30 payout & 100% of Added Money – 60% to Owner – 30% to Stallion – 10% to Nominator
  • LEGENDS OPEN:
    • Standard 4D format, 2 go’s and Average. $40,000 Added – 30% of the pot to the first round 30% to the second round & 40% to the average
    • For Legends of the South Stallion Incentive enrolled stallions and get of any age.
    • Must have copy of papers & Legends Entry Form at time of entry. 70/30 payout & 100% of Added Money – 60% to Owner – 30% to Stallion – 10% to Nominator
  • OPEN TO ALL:
    • Standard 4D format. Open To All is $20,000 Added – 25% of the pot to each Long Go & 50% to the Finals
    • Open 4D will be 2 long go’s and a final. (The top 35 in each division will advance. ) Clarification: The top 15 in each division will advance (determined based on total number of entries), as per full details originally listed in how to qualify to Finals at bottom of page and clarified by Legends 8/27.  Top 35 in each division will advanced.  Will bump past double qualifiers.
    • 2nd go will be running reverse order. Pre entries first then we will reverse the add-ons
    • Finals will run 4 per drag; 1D qualifiers 1st out, 2D qualifiers 2nd out, 3D qualifiers 3rd out, 4D qualifiers 4th out.  Draw position will be slowest to fastest within the Ds. (Last qualifier in 1D will run 1st out, last qualifier in 2D 2nd out etc. – See full explanation on how to qualify to Finals at bottom of this page)
  • All horses must have negative coggins
  • Mail-in pre-entries must be postmarked by 8/11/21 or Late Fee Applies
  • Online pre-entries accepted until 8/23/21 @ goBarrelRace.com – Late Fee & Add-On Draw Applies 8/24
  • All payments made with credit card will be subject to 4% convenience fee
  • No entry will be accepted without a name in horse column.
  • Horse changes will be taken in show office & must be done prior to first run.
  • Rider substitutions are allowed if noted before start of a race
  • Cash, credit card or online entry ONLY the day of show. 4% fee for all credit card transactions. NO CHECKS
  • Late entries will be issued a late fee of $20.
  • All debts must be paid in office prior to being able to race.
  • No refunds on entries. Entries can be transferred to any eligible horse/rider combination prior to first horse run. No refunds on exhibitions, stalls or R/V.
  • All horses staying overnight must be stalled.
  • Event T-Shirt or Full Western Attire (Cowboy Hat or Helmet) for Long Gos; Full Western Attire for Futurity & Finals Short Go
  • $35 fee for returned checks.
  • STALLS ARE $100 GOOD FROM WEDNESDAY TO SUNDAY EVENING – 2 BAGS OF SHAVINGS
  • ​SIDE POTS $40 entry enters you for both Fri & Sat and will pay 2 separate payouts for each day
  • Each side pot will have a 75% payback and riders must be entered in the Open to All. Adult side pot 19 yrs. and older; Masters is 40 yrs. and older at time of the event; Youth is 18 yrs. and under.

Finals Qualification

  • Run a qualifying time in a round/race or arena
    1. 299 or less = Top 15 per division in each round/race or arena. 30 per division, 120 total in finals.
    2. 300 – 399 = Top 20 per division in each round/race or arena. 40 per division, 160 total.
    3. 400 or 599 = Top 25 per division in each round/race or arena. 50 per division, 200 total.
    4. 600 or more = Top 30 per division in each round/race or arena. 60 per division, 240 total.
  • Double qualifiers will be skipped over, and the next fastest time will qualify back, so that the total amount of qualifiers taken equals the total amount based on entries.

**Ties will be broken by the rider’s placement or division in the other round/race or arena.

  • If a division doesn’t fill it will be filled by the next available division in the same round/race or arena.
    1. 1D filled by 2D
    2. 2D filled by 3D
    3. 3D filled by 4D
    4. 4D filled by 3D from the bottom

How does the draw work?

  • We will be dragging on 4 in the finals
  • Draw position will be determined first by the division qualified in, and then slowest to fastest. All 1D qualifiers will run 1st out, 2D qualifiers 2nd out, 3D qualifiers 3rd out, 4D qualifiers 4th  The first drag of the day will consist of the slowest qualifiers in each division, and the last drag of the day will consist of the fastest qualifiers in each division.
